Capitol Hill

Most people think of Capitol Hill as a place where business is done, laws are passed, and deals are sealed. But "the Hill", as locals call it, represents much more. A neighborhood that has been alive and kicking since the 18th century, it still has the houses to prove it. See the historic Marine Corps barracks and Commandant’s home, an alley that once housed more than 100 people, a charming Gothic Revival church, and Eastern Market, a centuries-old shopping center, where you can grab a cannoli, crab cake sandwich, or just breathe in the sights and smells of fresh meat, cheese, pasta, and produce.
