If you like history, maps, weird old buildings, and killing time on the internet, you, my friend, have come to the right place,” declared CityLab in 2016.  HistoryQuestDC is “a truly magnificent interactive GIS map stuffed with info on some 127,000 buildings in the District, from the White House and the Capitol on down to the funkiest little alley rowhouse.”  And it was created by Washington Walks guide Brian Kraft.  Hear how he did it and discover how you, too, can access D.C. building history with the click of a mouse.

Host:  Carolyn Crouch, Founder, Washington Walks

Brian Kraft is a long-time Washington Walks guide.  He is a 35-year resident of the Washington area and has been guiding for over 20 years.  Brian's job is researching Washington's buildings and creating historical resources.  A strong sense of place has led Brian into mapmaking, so as confusing as history can get, you'll never get lost on one of Brian's tours.
